pompom plate

what do you do with left over pompoms???? make a really cute dessert plate! we took a left over strand of pompoms, cake stand, and a glue gun. so easy- don't know why i didn't think of this before! {now that this is going through my mind i have so many more ideas....} by the way after you make it, you have to make some colorful brownies to go along with it... you can use this delicious recipe... or just make them from a box like we did...

monday must have

Have any of you mamas out there found yourselves wandering the aisles of Babies 'r Us thinking why can't I find just one thing that isn't covered in a pastel monkey motif or dated damask?? Sorry gals, this just means you gotta get creative!! Why do you HAVE to use something intended for "baby"? The answer is you don't!!  Step out of the box and grab a scarf from your favorite shop and use it for everything under the sun. Hey, you can even wear it while you are pregnant, then hand it over to baby. . .

herb is the word

anyone else constantly find themselves spending money on fresh herbs, only to have them go bad in a couple days and need to buy more of the same?  we wised up and decided to plant a little herb box for our kitchen window! best part is we got the kids involved- they love gardening, getting dirty and watering stuff {im really hoping they are into that part so these herbs stay alive... i have been known to kill a plant or two...} all you need is a window box, herbs, and soil. i forgot to get herb markers {although i have my eyes on these at anthro...} in the mean time i used mason jar caps and a chalk marker... ya know so when they die i can change the herb out for new ones...

DIY // navajo army jacket

Treasure hunting is one of our favorite weekend activities! This includes packing up the kiddos and heading out to endless estate sales, thrift stores, and flea markets.  When we came across this army jacket and navajo print sweater at the Goodwill, our minds quickly jumped to this amazing sweater jacket from Anthropologie that we both had been coveting!! We instantly got excited by the DIY potential in our little treasures. . . so we grabbed the scissors, pulled out the sewing machine, and a new baby was born!
